Pakistan, Iran top diplomats meets in Islamabad, hold wide-ranging talks

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday met in Islamabad and discussed bilateral relations and current situation in the region.

 

Iranian Foreign Minister, who arrived along with a high-level delegation on Wednesday evening in Islamabad on his two-day official visit to Pakistan.

 

Upon his arrival at the foreign ministry, Zardari welcomed his counterpart and later they planted a pine tree of friendship on the ministry premises.

 

“Wide-ranging talks are expected to cover all aspects of bilateral relations and the emerging regional situation,” said the ministry after delegation-level talks.

 

The two top diplomats will also speak at a joint news conference later today.
