OIC to Hold Extraordinary Meeting on Gaza in Jeddah on March 7

By The South Asia Times

Islamabad – Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on March 7 to discuss the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

The meeting will bring together top diplomats from the Muslim bloc to address the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza and deliberate on U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to displace Palestinians from the territory. The proposal has been widely rejected by Muslim nations and many other countries worldwide.

Dar emphasized that Pakistan stands in solidarity with Palestine and supports efforts to find a just and lasting solution to the conflict. He reaffirmed that Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people, and any attempt to forcibly relocate them is unacceptable.

The OIC has been vocal in condemning Israel's actions in Gaza and advocating for Palestinian rights. The upcoming meeting is expected to produce a strong collective response from Muslim-majority countries and outline diplomatic steps to counter displacement efforts and ongoing violence in the region.

More details on the agenda and expected outcomes of the meeting are yet to be disclosed.
