To build further pressure on Khan, Pakistani authorities targeted former PM family, close friends

ISLAMABAD - To build further pressure on former prime minister Imran Khan, Pakistani authorities now targeted his family and close friends, apparently to compel him to leave the country.

Khan in his latest Twitter post revealed that police carried out a raid on his sister's home and arrested her employees.

“My sisters driver and cook Rahim were picked up when the police couldn’t find her son. Both were jailed where they were packed like sardines. Rahim suffered breathing problems and since his release he has been on the ventilator fighting for his life. Clearly those who are responsible for this reign of terror feel they are above law,” Khan said

He called such actions as policy of might and said it could have temporarily spread fear amongst the people, it’s only a matter of time before this seething hatred comes out in the open.

“Whenever our Holy Prophet (PBUH) would go for battle, there were strict instructions that women, children and elders were not to be harmed. Today, our own security forces are raiding our houses in the middle of the night, breaking doors, vandalising the house and robbing it.

“Women are abused, harassed and threatened and if the person is not there then their boys, fathers and even servants are picked up and jailed,” Khan added

Pakistani former premier said that they used to hear about such grave violations of human rights in Indian occupied Kashmir but never imagined this would be happening here.

Khan’s close aid and former minister Syed Zulfi Bukhari also posted a CCTV footage of his home in Attock and said claimed that last night Police raided his house and abducted two of my staff members.

“Knowing full well that I’m not home yet they still decided to do it anyways. These cheap and desperate tactics by the frustrated terrorist Rana Sanaullah won’t work. By abducting my poor and innocent staff does nothing, rather shows how pathetic you and your govt is,” Bukhari tweeted.

Omar Ayub Khan, PTI Secretary General said that police carried out raid on former member of National Assembly Shandana Gulzar mother's residence at 3am midnight and her mobile phone taken away.

“Condemn this action in the strongest words possible. Elderly ladies are being victimised and harrassed. To what lows will this Imported Fascist Government stoop?? Will it continue to terrorize people to stop them from speaking up against tyrrany? That will not happen. This Fascist Govt should face reality and realize that it has brought nothing but despair for the people and the people despise them. When a tyrannical Govt crushes opposing voices then it's days are truly numbered and it rules by fear alone,” he wrote on Twitter.

According to Khan, Pakistani authorities arrested over 10,000 of his supporters and some of them were handed over to the army to trail them in the military courts while accused them involved in a violent protest on May 9 after authorities arrested Khan from inside Islamabad High Court premises that caused protests across the country.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah recently said that they have enough evidances against Khan and they could arrest and try him in military court. While international Human Rights organization strongly resisting and expressed deep concern over Pakistani govt move to trail civilians in military courts.
