India Premier Modi’s Name Surfaces in Epstein Files, Took Advice Ahead of Israel Visit: Says Congress

By Our Correspondent

NEW DELHI -  Newly released emails from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have drawn attention in India after the opposition Congress party claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name surfaced in the correspondence, raising questions about his interactions with Epstein.

According to Congress, an email from Epstein dated July 9, 2017, reportedly states: “The Indian Prime Minister Modi took advice and danced and sang in Israel for the benefit of the US President. They had met a few weeks ago. IT WORKED!”

The party said the email suggests Modi sought advice from Epstein before his visit to Israel from July 4–6, 2017, which came shortly after his meeting with US President Donald Trump in the United States on June 25–26, 2017. Congress claims that “connecting the dots” indicates a link between Modi’s visits and guidance allegedly provided by Epstein.

The opposition called the revelations “extremely shameful” and demanded that the Prime Minister clarify his relationship with Epstein, questioning that "What advice was Modi taking from Jeffrey Epstein?, Why did Modi perform cultural gestures, such as dancing and singing, during his Israel visit?, and What did Epstein mean by “IT WORKED”?

Congress emphasized that the matter concerns national dignity and India’s international reputation and insisted the Prime Minister provide answers to the public.

As of now, the Prime Minister’s office has not issued a comment on the latest revelations, and it remains unclear whether Modi or his officials will address the Congress party’s demands for clarification

The newly released files, part of a multi-million-page DOJ disclosure, contain emails, notes, and other correspondence involving Epstein, dating back several years. Several high-profile figures, including former US President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and other global leaders, have been mentioned in the documents in relation to social, political, or personal interactions with Epstein.

Experts note that while the emails provide insight into Epstein’s communications, the context and intent of each mention require careful verification. Analysts caution that appearances in the files do not necessarily imply wrongdoing but can raise questions about associations and influence.
