By The South Asia Times

NEW DELHI: The Hindu extremist groups affiliated with ruling RSS/BJP have launched a new campaign demanding their government to make the Indian national anthem mandatory in Muslim religious seminaries.

The campaign has launched in Karnataka state where the ruling party already banned Azaan (call for prayer), Hijab, and Muslim merchants to open shops near temples.

“The Hindu organizations have come together to demand the implementation of the rule of making singing of national anthem compulsory in madrassas before commencing classes. The campaign has been taken up on social media,” local media outlet Muslim Mirror reported.

The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh already implemented the national anthem to be sung in Madrassas.

While UP also banned loudspeakers in mosques and imposed other restrictions on Muslims as well.

A total of 968 madrassas are taking grants from the government. Among them 394 are going to be included in the Wakf Board, according to report.

Currently, in Muslim seminaries in India, only Hamad and Salam prayers are sung, however, Hindu extremists want to ban it.

Meanwhile, after the Karnataka government order, the Muslim prayer leaders in mosques have been asked to not use loudspeakers for morning Azaan.

The situation is worsening for Muslims and Sikhs inside India as the current Hindu nationalist government imposed several restrictions on their religious freedom which pushing the country to severe communal violence.

Some international rights groups already warned that Hindu extremist groups could carry out Muslim genocide in the Hindu Majority South Asian country.
