BEINIJNG (TSAT)
A China Eastern Airlines plane carrying 132 people crashed in the mountains in southern China on Monday, the country's civil aviation authority said.
Casualties are feared among the 123 passengers and nine crew members, Chinese state-run Global Times reported.
The plane "lost contact mid-air," the Civil Aviation Administration of China said.
The jet involved in the incident was a Boeing 737.
The flight was bound for the city of Guangzhou from Yunnan.

This is the first air crash in China since 2010 when a fatal incident took place in Yichun, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province killed 44 people.

China Eastern Airlines has decided to ground all of the company's Boeing 737-800 planes, according to the daily.
