ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran on Sunday welcomed his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau statement in which he said “Islamophobia is unacceptable”.

“I welcome Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau's unequivocal condemnation of #Islamophobia & his plan to appoint a Special Representative to combat this contemporary scourge,” Khan tweeted.

He added Trudeau call and action very timely and resonates with what he has long argued.

“Let us join hands to put an end to this menace,” Khan said.

On Saturday, Canadian Prime Minister said that there is no place in his country for Islamophobia or anyone who spread hatred against Muslims.

“Islamophobia is unacceptable. Full stop.,” Justin Trudeau tweeted and said “ We need to put an end to this hate and make our communities safer for Muslim Canadians.”

He also announced to appoint a special representative to combatting Islamophobia in his country.

Justin Trudeau is another world leader after Russian President Putin who earlier this month publicly spoke and rejected growing Islamophobia in western world and India.

Putin said that hurting Muslims through blasphemy and disrespect of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not freedom of expression and his country opposed such anti-Muslim acts.
