Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing Secures $8.5 Billion in Deals

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD/BEIJING — The 2nd Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference, held in Beijing on September 4, has resulted in agreements and MoUs worth $8.5 billion, the Pakistan Embassy said in a statement on Friday.

Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan, together with its consulates in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, the one-day conference facilitated 2,500–3,000 curated B2B meetings across nine sectors and 40 sub-sectors. The event concluded with the signing of 21 joint venture agreements valued at $1.5 billion, alongside more than 100 MoUs worth over $7 billion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended both the opening and closing ceremonies, witnessing the signing ceremony and delivering a keynote address. He reaffirmed the “ironclad” Pakistan-China relationship, lauded Beijing’s economic transformation, and assured full facilitation, security, and rigorous follow-up on all signed commitments.

The Embassy credited the success of the conference to the guidance of the prime minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, as well as the coordinated efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, Board of Investment, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industries and Production, and provincial departments.

Building on the inaugural edition in Shenzhen last year, this year’s conference was marked by scale and detailed preparation, including sector-specific pitch books, guidelines, and orientation sessions to ensure targeted outcomes.

“With these historic results, Pakistan aims to open a new chapter in B2B investment cooperation with China,” the embassy said.
