Pakistan PM Khan question over Modi's govt silence on Muslims killings in India

By Imran Nasir
ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - Pakistan Prime Minister on Monday questioned over the silence of Indian government over ongoing violence against Muslims and said Modi's government is real threat for region.

"The continuing silence of Modi government on the call at an extremist Hindutva summit in December for genocide of minorities in India, especially the 200 million Muslim community, begs the question whether the BJP government supports this call," Khan tweeted.
He urged the international community to take it serious as the situation worsening and would affect the regional security.

"It is high time international community took note and acted. Under the extremist ideology of the BJP-Modi government, all religious minorities in India have been targeted with impunity by Hindutva groups," Khan said and adding "The extremist agenda of the Modi govt is a real and present threat to peace in our region"

Khan statement came after a video of a Muslim man got viral on social media in which showed that Hindu extremist beating him and forced to say their Hindu religious slogan.
According to the Indian media, the incident took place in Jharkhand state in eastern India during a rally of ruling BJP party.
A Muslim man, identified Zeeshan, who was passing near by the rally caught by Hindu extremist assaulting him and was made to squat, spit on the road and lick it and chant Jai Shri Ram, the Indian Express reported.
Man suffering from bipolar disorder forced to lick own spit, chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ at BJP protest site, it added.
Last year, the Human Rights Watch accused the Indian government to adopted laws and policies that systematically discriminate against Muslims

"Authorities in India have adopted laws and policies that systematically discriminate against Muslims and stigmatize critics of the government," said HRW in a report.

"Prejudices embedded in the government of the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have infiltrated independent institutions, such as the police and the courts, empowering nationalist groups to threaten, harass, and attack religious minorities with impunity."
In February 2020, at least 53 people mostly Muslims were killed by Hindu extremist in New Delhi in communal violence incited by the BJP leaders.

Since Modi’s BJP came to power in 2014, it has taken various legislative and other actions that have legitimized discrimination against religious minorities and enabled violent Hindu nationalism, said the global rights body.
