NEW DELHI: At least two young Muslims were killed and dozens of others wounded when police open fire on peaceful protestors in the Jharkhand state of India, local media said.

The peaceful protest was started after Friday prayer and thousand of Muslims participated in the rally against the ruling party BJP leaders who insulted to Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

However, when the rally started in Ranchi Main Road, police opened direct firing and use tear gas to disperse the Muslims.

During police firing two young people, Mudassar Aam aged 16, and Sahil urf Afzal aged 19 were killed while dozens other wounded, the local daily Muslim Mirror reported.

After the police firing, violent clashes erupted across the state and authorities imposed a curfew to control the situation.

Local RSS/BJP activists also joined police to help them against the Muslims and pelted stones on their houses and shops.

Local police officers said that protesters also attacked local police stations and set fire to their vehicles and buildings after the killing of two young Muslims.

The situation in other parts of the country is also tense as thousand of Muslims are on the roads and demanding to arrest and hang BJP Spokersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal, who insulted to Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)/

“More than 1,100 shops in the market were shut since morning in protest against remarks of Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal. We demand their immediate arrest,” local news agency PTI quoted New Daily Market Traders Welfare Association President Haji Md Hasim as saying.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand state Hemant Soren appeals to people to claim down.

On Friday huge rallies held across India and Muslims came into the streets after the Indian government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi refused to arrest and take action against its party leaders who insulted the Muslim holy Prophet.

Despite several Muslim countries’ strong demands and condemnation, so far Modi government didn’t condemn Sharma and Jindal's blasphemous acts and neither arrested them.
