Former Afghan army young officer lives in trouble in India

NEW DELHI (TSAT) - Dozens former Afghan National Army young officers have stuck in India after fall of former President Ashraf Ghani’s government in Kabul in August.

 

The young officers who brought by the Indian government for training in different army academies in the country, now the Indian military kicked them out from their centres.

 

“We are in difficult situation as after fall of our government we were told [Indian authorities] that the Indian government will provide us assistance and support,” a young officer said, in his video message that got viral on social media.

 

At least 60 young Afghan army graduate who gathered in front of the Indian Defense Ministry in New Delhi hold protest against the Indian government for not fulfilled their promises and left them in trouble.

 

“Its now been four months since the time we have moved to New Delhi but we have not heard anything from the Indian government,” the young Afghan officer said.

 

“They [Indian army] made certain promises with us regarding our living and food allowances and expenditures here but till this period of four months the Indian government completely forgotten us,” he complained.

 

“We have not even heard a single word from the side of the Indian government of the dense ministry,” he added.

 

The officers who holds placards with slogans “we need justice and help” also chanted slogans against the Indian defines ministry for living them alone.

 

“We are asking and we want answers that what will happen today, until future tomorrow.”

 

“Today, we are here without anything. There's nothing left for us. We cannot go back and we cannot afford to stay here in India,” the protesters said.

 

During the previous Ashraf Ghani’ government Indian had close relations with Kabul and helping their army and intelligence agency officers.

 

However, after collapsed of Afghan national army and Ghani’s government, the Indian government has worried as now New Delhi have lost its all stacks in Kabul.

 

Now the Afghan students who came on Indian government scholarships are also facing uncertainty.

 

“We don’t know what will happen with us because now the behaviour of Indian students also changed with us and calling us Taliban,” Salih, a student in New Delhi, who requested to not mention his full name, told The South Asia Times.

 

The Afghan students also living under fear as some Hindu extremist groups are calling for Muslim genocide that caused huge tension inside the country.

 

New Delhi police have also registered FIR against the some Hindus local leaders who were involved in spreading hatred against the minority, however so far no one has been arrested by the police.

 

“This situation has put out lives in risk as we are also facing hatred from Hindu students who are belong to the ruling BJP party students group,” he added.

 

On Thursday, the Human Right Watch (HRW) in its report also accused the Indian ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Hindu nationalist government for its involvement in atrocities carried out against the minorities in the country last year.

 

 

 

In its latest report, the global rights body, said that Indian authorities intensified their crackdown on activists, journalists, and other critics of the government using politically motivated prosecutions in 2021.

 

 

 

In its World Report 2022, HRW said that tens of thousands of people died during a surge in Covid-19 cases, with the government failing to provide adequate health care to those in need.

 

 

 

“The clampdown on dissent was facilitated by the draconian counterterrorism law, tax raids, foreign funding regulations, and charges of financial irregularities,” HRW said.

 

 

 

Its added that attacks against religious minorities were carried out with impunity under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Hindu nationalist government.
