2 killed several others wounded in a terror attack on Sikh religious place in Kabul

KABUL: At least two people including a Sikh was killed and several other wounded in a terrorist attack on Sikh Gurdwara in Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday.

 

According to Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zardan, the Taliban forces foiled the attack as terrorists want to target the Gurdwara with an explosive-laden car. 

 

“ The attack on Sikh Gurdwara has been ended with the killing of all attackers in a short time to prevent further casualties. While during the operation one Sikh was killed and eight others injured, a Taliban security soldier also lost life,” he tweeted.

 

United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan strongly condemns the attack and said urged to cease attacks on civilians immediately.

 

“UNAMA strongly condemns today's attack on a #Sikh temple in #Kabul, which is reported to have resulted in numerous casualties. Attacks on civilians must cease immediately. UNAMA calls for protection of all minorities in #Afghanistan, including Sikhs, Hazaras and Sufis,” said the UNAMA.
