10 killed over 40 wounded in another explosion in mosque in Afghanistan

Nearly 110 people killed in blasts in Afghanistan during last 7 days 

KABUL (TSAT) - At least 10 people were killed and over 40 wounded in a powerful explosion in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Friday.

 

According to a local official, the explosive placed inside the mosque detonated when worshipers were performing prayer.

 

“The casualties toll from today’s bomb explosion in a Khanqah adjacent to a mosque in the Alauddin area of Police District-6 reached 40 casualties, including ten deaths. Security agencies are investigating the incident,” said Khalid Zardan, spokesman for Kabul police.

 

The security situation in Afghanistan had deteriorated as this was the fifth explosion in mosques in Afghanistan during the last seven days. 

 

So far over 100 people killed and hundreds other wounded in these explosion in different parts of the country, 

 

On Thursday evening, passenger vans were targeted in two explosions in Mazar-e-Sharif killing at least 9 and 13 others wounded, according to local officials. 

 

 

On last Friday over 50 people were killed and nearly 100 wounded in an explosion inside a mosque in Kunduz.

 

While on Thursday 35 people were killed and a dozen others wounded in another blast inside the mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif on Thursday. 

 

On April 19, a school was targeted in Kabul city in which six students were killed and 11 others wounded. While in another explosion one person was wounded in Kabul on the same day. 

 

The ISIS/Daesh terrorists group claimed responsibility for these attacks.

 

However, local Taliban officials believed that the former vice president Amrullah Salih and his group is behind the current wave of terrorism in the country. 

 

Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the heinous attacks that targeted innocent civilians inside mosques and said perpetrators will be detained and punished.
