Afghan Taliban condemns US sanction against two Taliban leaders

KABUL - Afghan Taliban on Saturday condemned the latest sanctions by the US against two key Taliban leaders over their role to banned girls education in the war-torned country.
"We condemn the restrictions imposed by the US Department of the Treasury on IEA’s two officials, Sheikh Fariduddin Mahmood and Sheik Mohammad Khalid Hanafi. Imposing pressure and restriction is not the solution to any problem," Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban spokesman said on X.
"Despite the fact that the United States has a history of such failed measures, it should not repeat its failed experiences. While America itself is among the biggest violator of human rights due to its support for Israel, it is unjustified and illogical to accuse other people of violating human rights and then ban them," he added.
On Friday, the US Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on Sheikh Fariduddin Mahmood and Sheik Mohammad Khalid Hanafi and accused them to played key role to ban girls education in Afghanistan.
