US likely to loose allies trust after weak response over Ukraine crisis, South Korea, Japan pays billions to Washington for its security  

 

WASHINGTON (TSAT) - The US and NATO likely to lost its trust of its allies after weak response to Russia over Ukraine crisis.

 

On Friday, the South Korean opposition asked government that how they can trust over Washington to provide security to Seoul after its current weak response on Ukraine crisis.

 

During the parliamentary committee on Foreign Affairs meeting in Seoul, the South Korea Democratic Party Representative  Lee Sang-min's asked the Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong that still we can be trusted on the US for South Korea's national security, after its weak response to the Ukraine crisis,? Yonhap News Agency reported.

 

The  Foreign Minister rejected his reservations and said  that the South Korea-U.S. alliance is not only the foundation of their  foreign affairs and national security, but the South Korea own defense capabilities are at a considerable level unlike Ukraine, so the people need not worry even a bit in light of the U.S. response to the situation in Ukraine.

 

Around 83,000 US troops are staioned in Japan and South Korea for their security and both countries have paid $18.4 billion to Washingto as security cost between 2016-19, according to Stars and Stripes, a website provide news related to the US military. 

 

However, the South Korean Foreign Minister rejected any plan that South Korea will join the US and its allies any military action in Ukraine.

 

On Friday, the Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also raised questions over the US and NATO response after Russia attacks on his country and he expressed disappointment over their response.

 

Zelenskyy said that they are aware of the situation in Ukraine but "we do not think you (Europe) would do anything, ” Anadolu Agency reported.

 

 

"How will you defend yourself while helping Ukraine so slowly?" he asked the European powers.

 

"Russia's invasion of Ukraine is not just an invasion, it is the beginning of a war against Europe," the Ukrainian president added.

 

He said that Ukraine was expected tough response from the European states but the world most powerful forces are watching the situation from afar.

 

Last week, the US and NATO assured Ukrainian President that they would stand behind him if Russia attack Kyiv, however so far the US, UK, Canada, Australia and some other countries imposed only economic sanctions against Russia and refrained to send physical help to Ukraine.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden said he will not sent his troops to Ukraine to fight against Russia.

 

“Although we provided over $650 million in defensive assistance to Ukraine just this year — this last year, let me say it again: Our forces are not and will not be engaged in the conflict with Russia in Ukraine.  Our forces are not going to Europe to fight in Ukraine but to defend our NATO Allies and reassure those Allies in the east,” Biden told reporters.

 

“As I made crystal clear, the United States will defend every inch of NATO territory with the full force of American power,” he added.

 

The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison who always threatening to Russia for serious consequences if Moscow attack on Kyiv, however on Friday when a journalist during his press conference asked that he will send troops to Ukraine as Russia already attacked against them.

 

Morrison said, this plan is not on the table so far.

 

“There's no suggestion that the United States is sending troops in,” Morrison said.
