Russia says west violates all rules of WTO, moving to build an alternate system

MOSCOW (TSAT) - Russia on Friday signaled that Moscow with like-minded partners is moving to build an alternate system following the west violated all rules of WTO and imposed sanctions against Moscow.

Speaking to reporters, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov that the US and its European allies violated all international rules and sanctioned Russia following its operation in Ukraine.

"It is obvious, that in conditions when all the rules of WTO, international law are being violated we need to build new types of relations in all areas. That is what we are going to do," the TASS news agency quoted Peskov as saying.

However, he didn’t share more details about his country's plan regarding future strategy to build an alternate system along with its like-minded countries.

Responding to the US and Australian leaders’ statements to keep Russia away from the G20 meeting which is scheduled in Indonesia later this year, he said the exclusion of Moscow from the G20 would be “not fatal”.

"As for the G20 format, it is important. But, on the other hand, in the current conditions, when most of the participants in this format are actually in a state of economic war with us, on their initiative, nothing fatal will happen. But in any case, Russia is still guided by the opinion of other participants in this format and will be ready, if possible, to take part in it," Peskov said

He added that still large number of countries stood with Russia and they didn’t support the west illegal sanctions.

Russia already announced that they wouldn’t trade with other countries in dollars which could hit the US dollar.

Last week, the US media reported that China and Saudi Arabia are also in discussion to sell oil to Beijing in Yuan instead of dollars.
