By The South Asia Times

Seoul, South Korea — South Korean police conducted a raid on the presidential office of President Yoon Suk-yeol on Wednesday , as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of failed attempt to imposed martial law.

The raid, carried out by officers from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, reportedly targeted documents and digital records linked to allegations involving close aides to the president. While officials have remained tight-lipped about the specifics.

In a brief statement, the presidential office acknowledged the raid, expressing its willingness to cooperate fully with authorities to "ensure transparency and uphold the rule of law."

This marks the first time in recent years that South Korea’s highest executive office has been directly implicated in a police investigation. The raid could have significant political ramifications, as Yoon faces mounting pressure over his attempt to impose martial law.

More details are expected to emerge as the investigation unfolds.
