Pakistan, Kuwait discuss Middle East situation, agree to deepen economic and strategic cooperation

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Kuwait's top diplomats on Wednesday discussed the ongoing crisis in Middle East and agreed to expand cooperation across key economic and strategic sectors.

During delegation-level talks co-chaired by Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad, both leaders stressed to resolve the crisis through dialogue.

According to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, the two sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discussed strengthening collaboration in trade, investment, energy, labor, agriculture, information technology, health, mining and minerals, defense, and broader economic partnership.

They agreed to institutionalize cooperation through stronger official linkages and regular high-level exchanges while reaffirming close coordination at multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East and Palestine. The Kuwaiti foreign minister praised Pakistan's constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and thanked Islamabad for its support to Kuwait during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to its longstanding ties with Kuwait and expressed Islamabad's desire to further strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership across all areas of cooperation
