India politicians, rights defenders praise Pakistan embassy in Ukraine to help their students 

Isaccea, Romania (TSAT) - Pakistan embassy in Ukraine has helped in an evacuation of dozen Indian students stranded at the Ukraine-Romania border.

 

The London-based IlmFeed shared a video of Indian students who were shifted by the Pakistan embassy into its camp on the Romania border and praised Islamabad officials for helping students of its arch-rival India.

 

 

“Heartwarming: Pakistan's Embassy in Ukraine is helping Indian students who are trying to escape the country and are providing them food,” IlmFeed tweeted. 

 

In the video, an Indian student sitting in the Pakistan camp, saying that when they arrived from Kharkiv they searched their country official but no one was present there and then Pakistani official bring us here along with their students and now hosting us at their camps.

 

Prominent Indian analyst and rights defender Ashok Swain also shared the same video of his country students hosted by the Pakistani embassy in its camp.

 

“Indian embassy officials are missing at the Romanian border. Pakistan Embassy helping Indian students to escape war in the Ukraine,” Swain said.

 

The Indian students were stranded following Indian embassy officials who left them alone at the border.

 

 

“Pakistan Embassy in Ukraine has rescued the Indian students after their embassy officials left them stranded following the ongoing war,” Pakistan state-run Radio Pakistan reported. 

 

The officials of the Indian embassy neglected their obligation to ensure evacuation of their nationals and fled for their own survival, its added.

 

 Indian politician criticized their government for neglecting the students who needed the help of their government in the current difficult time.

 

“Pakistan, Romania provided food, shelter to Indian students stranded in Ukraine; while Indian embassy asked our students to clean toilets if they want to board flights for home. How cruel & Shameful!,” wrote Salman Nizami, an Indian politician on Twitter

 

 

“Our students are stranded. Can PM Modi evacuate them with as much efficiency as his PR exercises & election tricks are. It is a shame that our brethren are fending for themselves while BJP sells narrative of Modi's international clout!,” Nizami added.

 

Another video that got viral on social media of Indian students who arrived in New Delhi, revealed that their country embassy’s officials asked them to clean their toilets.

 

In the video, a female student accused the Indian official in Ukraine and said that they asked them those students will evacuate first who will clean their toilets first.

 

“Shame on Endia! Nearly 1,000 Indian girls stranded in Ukraine have been offered by the Indian embassy to clean the toilets and be evacuated from Ukraine.

I appeal to the govt of Pakistan to help these helpless girls if possible,” Ahmad, wrote on Twitter. 

 

The Indian embassy in Ukraine said that they evacuated over 10,000 students and 300 evacuated on Saturday despite shelling and a tough situation. 

 

While Pakistan so far evacuated nearly 1,500 citizens and 70 are remaining.
