Make no mistake, India becomes irresponsible nuclear state, Pakistan warns world

By Zahid Shah

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - Pakistan on Thursday warned the world that India has become an irresponsible nuclear state and a major threat to the regional and world security.

In a series of Tweets, the Pakistan National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf said the OIC Foreign Ministers meeting discussed this issue and  has highlighted the threat to the region’s security due to New Delhi recent missile launch into Pakistan in its OIC Islamabad declaration.

“Make no mistake, India has become an irresponsible state with nuclear weapons and the world is beginning to recognise Pakistan’s longstanding concern on this count,” Moeed Yusuf said.

He added that those countries who were planning to buy the Indian missiles and other equipments would now having second thoughts.

“It is also only natural that countries who were reportedly looking to buy Indian missiles and other equipment are having second thoughts.

The missile ‘misfire’ from India must remain an issue of international concern. Indian attempts to brush it off cannot mask the gravity of the episode,” said Pakistan's top official.

In January this year, the Philippines had finalized a deal of $375 million to buy BrahMos missile from New Delhi.

However, now likely the Philippines to cancel its deal with India after New Delhi said that its BrahMos missile accidentally fired during routine maintenance due to"technical malfunction”.

The New Delhi acknowledgment raised questions over the safety of BrahMos and its other nuclear weapons.

He also criticized India for its silence over Pakistan's demand for a joint investigation to find out the real causes of the incident.

“The lack of any Indian response to Pakistan’s call for joint investigation and lack of information about India’s so-called internal inquiry is a wake-up call for the international community. This reflects the mindset of the Modi regime and the character of the Indian state today,” Yusuf said.

He hoped that OIC CFM 2022’s declaration will increase global calls for accountability and a transparent joint investigation will be ensured.

On our part, we will continue to sensitise international opinion on the dangers of India’s nuclear program and will continue efforts to ensure strategic stability while defeating aggression at all costs,” he concluded.

On March 9, Pakistan army spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar said that a Hi-speed flying object was picked up inside Indian Territory by the Air Defence Operations Center of PAF.

“From its initial course, the object suddenly maneuvered towards Pakistani Territory and violated Pakistan Air Space ultimately falling near Mian Channu at 6:50 PM also damaged some civilian property,” said the spokesman of the Pakistan army told reporters.

On March 11, India admitted and its Defense Ministry said that New Delhi deeply regret over missile fire that entered Pakistan airspace and said it was a "technical malfunction".

In a statement, Indian Defense Ministry said the government of India has taken serious notice and ordered a high-level Court of Enquiry into a missile that entered into Pakistan.

“The incident is deeply regrettable, but it is a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident,” said the ministry.

However, Pakistan rejected New Delhi's explanation and demanded from India a joint probe of the missile incident.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry raised several questions about loopholes and technical lapses of India handling nuclear, strategic weapons and said only a joint probe could answer their questions.
