Pakistan Strongly Rejects Jaishankar’s Remarks, Says India Sponsoring Terrorism In Region

By Mashal Khan

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Saturday strongly rejected comments made by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who described Pakistan as a “bad neighbour” and asserted India’s right to defend its people against terrorism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, called Jaishankar’s remarks “irresponsible” and said India attempting to divert attention from its own troubling record in the region.

In a statement, Andrabi highlighted India’s documented support for terrorism in Pakistan, citing the case of Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav as an example of state-sponsored extremist activity.

He also raised concerns over extraterritorial killings, sabotage through proxy groups, and support for terrorist networks, linking such actions to the ideology of Hindutva and its violent proponents.

The spokesperson further condemned India’s ongoing military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to providing full political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination, as recognized in UN Security Council resolutions.

Addressing regional water security, Andrabi warned that any unilateral violation of the Indus Waters Treaty by India would undermine stability and credibility, emphasizing that Pakistan would take all necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights under the agreement.
