Protests against ban on hijab continues, opposition parties condemns BJP anti-Muslim actions in India

NEW DELHI (TSAT) - The government in southwest Indian state of Karnataka has shut downed the educational institutions for three days after huge protest erupted across the state following government banned Muslim students with Hijab from education.

The decision taken by the state government to control the situation as extremist Hindu groups also came out in support of BJP led government decision against the Muslim minorities, according to local media.

Situation in the state and across the country escalated as the opposition parties also condemned the Hindu nationalist BJP government for its act against the country constitution which guaranteed the freedom of religious freedom in the country.

On Wednesday, top opposition Congress party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra extended her support to Muslim girls for wearing the hijab.
"Whether it is a bikini, a ghoonghat[face veil], a pair of jeans, or a hijab, it is a woman’s right to decide what she wants to wear," she tweeted.
She asked the ruling BJP extremists to "stop harassing women" and said, "this right is guaranteed by the Indian constitution."
Meanwhile, the country national students union also spoke against the anti-Muslim acts by Karnataka government and condemned BJP students move to replaced national flag with saffron in colleagues

“The tricolor is supreme and will remain supreme.
No matter how hard the communal forces try, we will not allow the country to burn in the fire of hatred in the name of religion,” the union said and adding “ Wherever RSS-BJP try to divide the country, NSUI will work to thwart their every effort.”

The tension erupted in Karnataka state after last month the local authorities of BJP government banned Muslim girls from entering colleagues with Hijab.

Later, the students had filed a petition in the court sought justice and urged to stop the government from barring Muslim girls from education
