ISLAMABAD -  Pakistan has received an outpouring of international support following a deadly terrorist attack at a mosque in the capital, with senior officials from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia conveying condolences and reaffirming solidarity with the country.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the people of Türkiye over the loss of lives.

Dar thanked the Turkish leadership for its support and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism and protect civilians. The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional and global developments, according to Foreign Ministry.

In a separate call, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed sympathies on behalf of Azerbaijan’s president, government, and people, strongly condemning the attack and offering prayers for the victims. Both sides reviewed regional and international issues and reaffirmed the enduring partnership between Islamabad and Baku.

Iran also expressed solidarity, with Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam meeting Dar to convey condolences over the blast at an Imambargah. During the meeting, the Pakistani foreign minister condemned the attack and emphasized the country’s firm determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms. The Iranian envoy briefed him on progress in bilateral cooperation, while Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Tehran across priority sectors.

Similarly, Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev met the deputy prime minister to review the full spectrum of Pakistan-Russia relations and pledged continued efforts to strengthen bilateral ties. Khorev expressed condolences for the victims, while Dar denounced the “heinous act of terror” and expressed solidarity with affected families.

In a public statement, Dar thanked world leaders and foreign ministries for their messages of support during what he described as a difficult time for the nation. He stressed that Pakistan “stands resolute against terrorism” and remains committed to working with the international community to confront the shared global threat.

Dar also highlighted the role of Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and first responders in addressing the aftermath of the attack, noting that the government is providing all necessary assistance to victims and their families.

Reaffirming Islamabad’s stance, he said Pakistan would continue to respond decisively to any threat against its peace and stability while upholding efforts to safeguard its citizens.
