Terrorists attack on cadet collage in northwestern Pakistan,

By The South Asia Times

Peshawar- Security forces successfully repelled a terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in an official statement.

According to the ISPR, militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khwarij attempted to breach the college’s security perimeter early in the day. The attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate, causing significant structural damage.

Troops stationed at the facility responded swiftly, engaging the attackers and killing two militants on the spot. Three others managed to enter the college premises but were quickly surrounded inside the administrative block, where clearance operations are currently underway.

The ISPR condemned the incident as a “heinous and cowardly” act aimed at spreading fear among students of the tribal districts, comparing it to the 2014 Army Public School attack in Peshawar.

The statement alleged that the attackers were in communication with handlers based in Afghanistan, adding that the assault exposes the falsity of Afghan Taliban claims that no terrorist groups operate from their soil.

“Pakistan reserves the right to respond against terrorists and their leadership present in Afghanistan,” the ISPR warned, underscoring Islamabad’s stance on cross-border militancy.

The military media wing further reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eradicate terrorism through the ongoing Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

No casualties among security forces or students have been reported so far. The
