22 Militants Killed as Security Forces Foil Infiltration Bid from Afghanistan, Conduct Multiple Operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rawalpindi -  Pakistan’s military said on Thursday that security forces killed at least 22 militants, including a key commander, in a series of counterterrorism operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district and Balochistan province.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops detected the movement of a group of Khwarij militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan through the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur on the night of October 29–30. Security forces immediately engaged the infiltrators, killing four militants, including their ringleader Amjad alias Mazahim, a high-value target and deputy to the outlawed outfit’s chief, Noor Wali.

Amjad, who headed the Rehbari Shura of the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al Khwarij, carried a bounty of Rs 5 million. He was accused of orchestrating multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan while operating from sanctuaries in Afghanistan.

The ISPR said the incident underscores Pakistan’s repeated concerns that “Afghan soil continues to be used as a safe haven” by anti-Pakistan elements. It reiterated that the Interim Afghan Government must ensure its territory is not used for terrorism against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted on October 28 and 29, security forces killed 18 terrorists linked to another Indian proxy outfit, Fitna al Hindustan, in Balochistan’s Quetta and Kech districts.

In Quetta’s Chiltan Mountains, troops engaged militants after detecting their presence, killing 14 terrorists during an intense exchange of fire. Another operation in Buleda, Kech District, led to the neutralization of four more militants and the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.

The military said sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. Pakistan’s counterterrorism drive, launched under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue “at full pace to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism.”
