Video Shows Terrorists Inside Cadet College Wana; Forensics Link Attackers to Afghan Handlers

By The South Asia Times

PESHAWAR - Security sources on Tuesday confirmed the recovery of a video clip from the mobile phone of a militant killed in Monday’s attack on Cadet College Wana. The footage shows armed men moving inside the campus during the assault.

According to a forensic examination of the phone, the attackers maintained continuous communication with their handlers in Afghanistan, officials said.

Around 650 people, including 525 cadets, were present at the college when the attack occurred. Security forces have safely rescued 115 individuals, while 535 remain on campus as the evacuation continues under tight security.

Three militants, identified by security officials as members of “Fitna al-Khawarij,” are believed to be confined to one building situated away from cadet residential quarters. The area has been cordoned off, and the ongoing operation is being conducted “with utmost caution” to avoid civilian casualties.

The assault began on 10 November, when attackers rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate, destroying the entry point and damaging nearby structures. Army personnel on-site immediately responded, killing two of the assailants.

Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to continue operations “until all terrorists are neutralized,” stating that the perpetrators who targeted innocent children “have no link to Islam or Pakistan’s prosperity.”

Officials refrained from sharing additional details, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing operation and forensic investigation. Further updates are expected as the clearance mission progresses.
