Turkish envoy meets Pakistan army, air chiefs

ISLAMABAD: Turkish ambassador to Pakistan Mehmet Pacaci on Thursday met with Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, officials said.

 

In a statement, issued by the ISPR, said Mr Mehmet Pacaci and General Bajwa discussed matters of regional security situation, mutual and professional interest with special emphasis on defence and security collaboration between the two brotherly countries.

 

 

“We highly value our brotherly relations with Turkey which are deeply rooted in history and entrenched in our cultural and religious affinities,” said General Bajwa.

 

 

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan's role for regional stability and pledged to play his role for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.

 

 

Meanwhile, ambassador Mehmet Pacaci also called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force in his office in Islamabad.

 

During the meeting, both the dignitaries discussed matters of professional and mutual interest. 

 

While appreciating the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force, Turkish Ambassador Mr. Mehmet Pacaci acknowledged PAF’s rising indigenous capacity in aviation industry, according to PAF statement. 

 

 

“Pakistan and Turkiye have longstanding religious, cultural and historical bonds which were manifested through strong ties between the Air Forces of two countries,” said Air Chief.

 

 

He added that both countries enjoy cordial relations and reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries. 

 

The Air Chief further said, “Pakistan values its relations with Turkiye, which are based on convergence on all important issues relating to regional peace, security and stability”.
