ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the former Prime Minister Imran Khan to hold his Azadi March in the capital Islamabad.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi ordered the government to remove all barriers from roads and allow Khan’s supporters to enter in the capital.

The court also ordered to release of all political detainees and provide a place for Khan for his protest march.

"While playing the role of the arbitrator, we pass the order that no raids should be conducted on the homes of PTI workers," Dawn quoted the Supreme Court said in its order.

The government blocked all entrances toward Islamabad and also halted traffic on the main motorway connecting Islamabad with Lahore and Islamabad-Peshawar including the GT Road.

Khan supporters removed the containers from some places and a massive rally is still on the way from Peshawar to Islamabad which is led by Imran Khan.
