6 killed in a suicide bombing in NW Pakistan near Afghan border

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - At least six people including three Pakistan army soldiers and three children have lost their lives in a suicide attack in northwestern Pakistan, the military said on Sunday.

 

 

“A suicide blast occurred in the vicinity of Miranshah, North Wazirstan. Resultantly Lance Havaldar Zubair Qadir, age 33 years resident of Pakpatan, Sepoy Uzair Asfar, age 21 years resident of Haripur, Sepoy Qasim Maqsood, age 22 years, resident of Multan and 3 innocent children Ahmed Hassan age 11 years, Ahsan age 8 years and Anum age 4 years embraced shahadat,” said Pakistan army in a statement.

 

 “Intelligence agencies are investigating to find out about suicide bomber and his handlers / facilitators,” It’s added. 

 

The latest attack was carried out despite the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an umbrella organization of Pakistani militants group, announcing a ceasefire before the Eid and ordering its militants to stop attacks inside Pakistan.

 

Last week, the group extended its ceasefire till May 15, after reports of peace talks in Afghanistan. 

 

However, despite the cease-fire, the militants carried out a suicide attack on a military check-post in Waziristan. 

 

So far TTP didn’t issue any statement about the violation of ceasefire by their militants. 

 

Terrorist attacks against the Pakistan army and civilians in areas along the Pak-Afghan border have increased in recent months as militants carry out attacks from Afghanistan.

 

According to the Pakistan army, over 100 of their officers and soldiers lost lives in terrorist attacks in terrorist attacks in areas near the Afghan border during the last three months.

 

The TTP terrorists who fled away to Afghanistan along with their families now living in Kunar, Khost, Paktia, and Paktika provinces along with the Pakistan border. 

 

However, despite Pakistan's repeated requests, the new Taliban government so far didn’t take any action to stop TTP terrorists from using Afghan soil against Pakistan.
