Pakistani court common prime minister, his son in mega corruption cases

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani court on Saturday summoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz on September 7 for framing of charges in mega corruption cases.

 

According to Dawn, the premier didn’t appear before the special court and his lawyer informed the court that  the premier had been advised against travelling as he was not well. “The weather was unpleasant yesterday which is why he did not come today.”

 

Sharif and his son facing Rs 16 billion monyluandering cases in the court.

 

Prime Minister and his son are currently on bail in the said cases. 

 

Meanwhile, Hamza’s lawyer Rao Aurangzeb also informed the court that he had severe back pain and he had attached the medical report with the exemption request, according to Dawn.

 

However, Hamza participated in the Punjab Assembly session on Friday and also spoke with media where he was apparently looking healthy.

 

Same, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hours after the court proceedings, left for Balochistan to visit the flood-affected areas.

 

“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Jacobabad to commence his one day visit of flood hit areas of Balochistan. Jacobabad, 30th July, 2022,” said prime minister office in a statement.
