Pakistan evacuation operations from Sudan ends, over 1,000 evacuated

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said that its evacuation operation from Sudan has been ended as over 1,000 Pakistan have evacuated.

 

In a short statement, the ministry thanked Saudi Arabia and China to help Pakistan in evacuation.

 

“By Allah’s grace and tireless efforts of our embassy in Khartoum led by Amb Regi, supported by [Saudi Arabia] 🇸🇦 and 🇨🇳 [China] and our teams in Jeddah and Islamabad, we have successfully and safely evacuated over 1000 Pakistanis out of Sudan. With this our evacuation operations out of Sudan have ended,” said the ministry.

 

The evacuations through Jeddah will continue until last Pakistani returns safely, its said.

 

“Alhamdollilah our evacuation operations out of Sudan are now complete with the safe evacuation of around 1025 Pakistanis. The repatriations from Jeddah would continue until last Pakistani is eventually brought back,” Foreign Secretary Asad Majeed Khan tweeted.

 

 

Several countries evacuated their thousands of citizens from Sudan after the country’s security forces started fighting against each other.

 

So far over 460 people killed in the ongoing clashes between the regular army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
