Pakistan political crisis, interior minister propose governor rule in opposition rule province

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - As the political crisis in Pakistan further tensed after several ruling party members of parliament appeared from a safe heaven ofopposition in capital Islamabad.

Raja Riaz and Noor Alam Khan, the members of the national assembly, who were elected from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) platform in the 2018 elections, suddenly appeared from Sindh House, a guest house of the southern Sindh provincial government.

 

Sindh province currently ruling by the opposition Pakistan People Party (PPP)  and PTI accused the opposition of buying their MPs and offering them millions of rupees while some of their MPs have kept in Sindh house. 

On Thursday, Riaz and Noor Alam told the local media that they got shelter in Sindh's house and they would use their vote in accordance with their conscience during the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister Imran Khan in the parliament. 

Riaz claimed  24 MPs of the ruling party have also got shelter in Sindh house and they would use their vote accordance with their conscience. 

 

Earlier on Wednesday, Khan while addressing a public gathering in northwestern Swat district said that the opposition spending billions of rupees to buy his party MPs and some of them have been hostages by the opposition in Sindh house in the capital Islamabad. 

 

Federal Minister Asad Umar while reacting ondisgruntled member statements, said that Khan will neither blackmail nor anyone can blackmailed him in his life. 

 

“PM Imran Khan and his party will take all actions and decisions according to the Constitution of Pakistan,” Umar said. 

Earlier, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that he suggested Khan to declare governor rule in the Sindh province as the provincial government has already violated the law and helped its party to carry political coup against an elected government. 

 

“I have suggested the prime minister to impose governor rule in the Sindh and tomorrow I will meet him and would try my best to convince the prime minister to move ahead, Rashid said while talking with local broadcaster Hum News. 

 

He added the PPP leader Asif Zardari also imposed governor rule in Punjab in 2009.

 

“There is no other option without governor rule in Sindh because the Sindh government violated the constitution and blackmailers and vote sellers are no longer deserve any concession.

 

“Prime Minister Imran Khan will now have to impose governor rule in Sindh,” he added.
