Pakistan northwestern parts hit by heavy rain, storm, at least 20 dies

ISLAMABAD - At least 20 people were died and over 100 wounded in rain related accidents in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Heavy rain and storm hit the southern districts of the province and caused heavy damages to local people and properties, Dr Khateer Ahmad, Director General of Rescue 1122 said.

"So far 12 deaths reported from Bannu, 4 from Karak, 3 Lakki Marwat and one from DI Khan," he said.

While over 100 people wounded across the province but number of deaths and injured could raise, said the official.

Rescue 1122 teams already arrived and search and rescue operation in the affected areas.
