Pakistan strongly condemns vandalization, burning of Muslim Houses by Hindu militants groups in India

 By Zahid Shah

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - Pakistan Tuesday strongly condemned the attacks and burning of Muslim community houses and shops in Rajasthan  state of India by the Hindu militant groups.

In a statement, Pakistan Foreign Ministry called the attacks “senseless vandalization” and burning of more than 40 houses of the Muslim community in Karauli, Rajasthan by radical Hindu zealots belonging to the ruling party BJP-RSS and criticized the local security authorities for watching the vandalization as silent spectators.

“Equally alarming is the apathy of state machinery which wantonly looked the other way and failed in its basic duty of protecting the lives and properties of its citizens,” said the ministry.

On Saturday, Hindu militants groups affiliated with the RSS has set fire to Muslim houses and shops in Rajasthan after clashes between Hindu and Muslim youths.

The clashes erupted after Hindu militants played music loudly in front of the Mosque where Muslims performed prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ironically, the violent Hindu militant set fire to Muslim houses in presence of local police, according to the local news website Muslim Mirror.

“Regretfully, the minorities in India, especially Muslims continue to live under fear and intimidation. The BJP-RSS combine has enabled perpetration of senseless violence against minorities as part of its ‘Hindutva’ agenda marked by hate and majoritarianism,” said Pakistan Foreign Ministry.

“Recent history is replete with traumatic instances that reflect the current regime’s deep-seated animosity against the Muslims in India. Deafening silence of the BJP leadership and absence of discernible action against ‘Hindutva’ proponents must ring alarm bells across the international community,” it’s said and adding that rather than relenting in their hostilities against the Muslims, the BJP-RSS activists have intensified the atrocities.

On April April, Yati Narsinghan, the infamous Haridwar priest, once again brazenly called upon the Hindus to take up arms against the Muslims.

While in several states including Karnataka, the Hindu militants groups also launched an anti-Muslim campaign of “boycott Muslims shops”, but so far government authorities refused to take any action against the groups, according to local Muslims.

Islamabad called upon the international community to take immediate notice of the worrying level of Islamophobia in India and prevail upon Indian authorities to prevent systematic human rights violations against minorities particularly Muslims and take effective steps to ensure safety, security, and well-being of all minorities in India.
