ISLAMABAD: A prominent Pakistani TV anchor and journalist Imran Riaz Khan on Monday again took off air by a TV channel for the second time within five months.

Khan wrote on Twitter that his organization Express-News has informed him about the decision to take him off air.

“ [Today] when I went to the Express News office for my program, I was told that we are forced to not let you go on air,” Khan said.

“When I asked the management if anything went wrong in my show, they told me, nothing went wrong in your show but we have no other way except to off air your program,” he added.

The management didn’t reveal the names of those who asked them to fire Khan from their TV channel.

This was  the second time in five months, that any TV channel in the South Asian country has taken off air his program.

Earlier Samaa TV also had stopped him from his show.

Khan is the most prominent TV anchor in Pakistan as millions of people watch his program and he is a critic of the current 12 parties’ alliance government.

Khan also criticized the United States for it alleged conspiracy to oust former Prime Minister Imran Khan from power in April this year through a regime change operation.

The US repeatedly denied any role in toppling Imran Khan’s government.

However, Imran Khan accused Washington to toppled his government after he visited Moscow in February this year.

Meanwhile, Imran Riaz Khan was also arrested by the government on July 6 and registered around 20 cases against him in Punjab province.

Later, the Lahore high court granted him bail and released him from police custody.

The government also suspended the transmission of the Pakistan major ARY News TV channel, which is also criticizing the current government and supports former premier Khan.

Currently, all journalists who are critics of the 12 parties’ ruling alliance are reportedly facing threats and authorities trying to fire them from their organizations by putting pressure on the management.
