Pakistan army chief visits to Kashmir border for the second time in 4 days

ISLAMABAD (TSAT) - Pakistan army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday visited the Kashmir border to meet his troops deployed at the de facto border with India. 

 

In a statement, issue by the Pakistan army media wing, ISPR, said General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited front line troops in Padhar Sector where he briefed on the latest situation along Line of Control (LOC) and operational readiness of the formation. 

 

LOC is a de-facto border between Pakistan and India in the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir. 

This was his second visit to LOC during last four days. 

 

Army Chief also interacted with officers and soldiers and had Iftar with them. 

 

“COAS appreciated them for their high state of morale and professional excellence in performance of sacred duty in defence of motherland,” according to ISPR statement. 

 

 

 Earlier, on arrival, Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Corps Commander, received COAS

 

On Wednesday, Gen. Bajwa also visted to the forward areas of Chakothi Sector along Line of Control (LOC).

 

Former military officers praised Gen. Bajwa for his continue interaction with ground troops despite the current hot weather in most parts of the country. 

 

“No matter it is fasting in scorching heat or holiday, Chief of Army Staff loved to b with troops at  forward areas . Leadership is not an easy task, you need to rough out your comfort for Pakistan,” Brig Retired Ashfaq Hassan tweeted.
