Indian army killed a civilian in cross-border firing in Pakistani Kashmir

KASHMIR - The Indian army has killed a civilian and two others wounded in indiscriminate fire on a group of shepherds in Kashmir.

According to Pakistan army, the Indian Army, in a display of its usual inhumane approach towards innocent Kashmiris, opened indiscriminate fire onto a group of shepherds in Sattwal Sector, resultantly, one civilian has embraced shahadat while two have been critically injured.

“Driven by a newfound geo-political patronage, Indian forces have embarked on a plan to take innocent lives to satiate their false narratives and concocted allegations,” said ISPR in a statement.

Pakistan launched a strong protest with Indian side and warned that Islamabad reserves the right to respond back in manner of its choosing to protect Kashmiri lives in the LOC belt.

“Indian side is reminded to respect basic human rights of Kashmiris, particularly, their inalienable right to till their lands,” it said.

In 2021, the two countries agreed to strictly observe a ceasefire at the de facto border between the two countries in the disputed region of Kashmir.

Since the agreement, cross-border firing from the Indian side decreased as earlier New Delhi forces were every day violating the 2003 ceasefire agreement.

The latest development also came just two days after PM Modi met with US President Biden in Washington and called on Pakistan to take action against those who are carrying out attacks in India.
