SRINAGAR, Jammu and Kashmir (TSAT) - An Indian Army major has been killed after fell down from a cliff in Indian administered Kashmir on Thursday.
According to the Indian Army, 34-year-old Maj Raghunath Ahlawat, from the Indian Army special forces died in Uri, Baramullah area of Jammu and Kashmir.
“#ChinarCorps salutes the valour & sacrifice of Maj Raghunath Ahlawat, who laid down his life in the line of duty in Uri, #Baramulla on 05 May 22,” said the army in a statement posted on Twitter.
The army didn’t share more detail regarding the incident, however, locals said that he was died after being pushed from a cliff by his own soldier during patrolling.
Ahlawat hailed from Dwarka, New Delhi, and was commissioned into Army in 2012.
He is survived by his wife.
