Imran Khan asks his supporters to prepare for another long march toward capital Islamabad if govt not announce fresh elections in 6 days

By Shahabullah Khan

PESHAWAR: Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday asked his supporters to prepare for another long march toward the capital Islamabad if the government not announced fresh elections in six days.

Addressing to a news conference in Peshawar, Khan said he know his supporters were disappointed by an announcement to call off the long march on Thursday but he did because for the sake of the country.

“I know people were disappointed to call off the long march but I realized the situation that imported government wanted to push the people into a fight with police and army and in that case, the country could be affected,” he explained.

“I took the decision because for the sake of the country,” Khan said.

He added that this time they will go with full preparations to stay there until to compel the government to announce a fresh election

“The government, establishment and all have enough time of six days and they should decide but this time government will be responsible for all consequences,” he warned.

The former premier clarified that he will never accept this government imposed by the United States.

“The US wants to destroy the economy of Pakistan as they toppled my government because I was going to sign a deal with Russia to buy cheap petrol and wheat,” Khan explained.

He criticized the government's decision to increase the petroleum prices by Rs 30 per liter and said this burden could be avoided if we signed a deal with Russia.

“I consider it [anti-government movement] as a Jihad and will once again announce the date to reach Islamabad if a date for elections is not announced.”

Khan demanded from the country's top court to protect him to exercise their constitutional rights of protest.
