France assures Taliban top diplomat to continues interaction with new government in Kabul

KABUL (TSAT) - The France government top officials on Tuesday assured the acting Afghan foreign minister that Paris want to continues its interaction with new government in Kabul.

 

In a statement, issued from the Afghan foreign ministry said, Mr Bertrand, chief of Asia-Pacific Division in the foreign ministry met with Afghan acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Oslo, Norway and discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.

 

Mr Bertrand said his country has historic relations with Afghanistan and this year they will mark the 100 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two country.

 

He added that Paris will continue its humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan and want to continue its interaction with the new Taliban government in Kabul, according to the statement.

 

Mr Muttaqi also assured the top French diplomat that his government want positive and good relations with all countries and requested him that France should help them in education, health sectors and provide humanitarian assistance which is urgently needed.

 

Muttaqi along with a high level delegation is currently in Norway, where he met with US, Norwegian and other European countries officials on Monday.

 

According to a joint statement, issued after the meeting, the participants listened patiently to each others’ opinions and exchanged views on the current circumstances in the country.

 

“They affirmed that Afghanistan is the common home of all Afghans, and emphasized that all Afghans need to work together for better political, economic and security outcomes in the country,” said in the joint statement, sent by Taliban spokesman to reporters. 

 

The participants of the meeting recognized that understanding and joint cooperation are the only solutions to all the problems of Afghanistan.

 

“All [US, EU officials] the participants, with one voice, declared such meetings to be in the interest of the country.” and thanked the Norway government for arranging the meeting.
