ISLAMABAD - Election Commission of Pakistan on late Friday announced another controversial decision against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and withdraw election symbol of his party.

In a controversial verdict, the country's election body declared intra-party elections of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and withdrew its election symbol of Bat just days ahead of general elections in the country.

“PTI Without Bat only for 2,3 days. No Court will uphold this absurd decision. It will remain a shame for ECP for all times to come,” said PTI lawyer Abuzar Salman Niazi on X.

While PTI social media head Jibran Ilyas called the decision as “another attempt to disappoint.”

“Don't worry, we will win the symbol back,” he said

“And even if it is taken, the new election symbol will be propagated in a week, God willing. You just don't have to panic or despair, watch them all fall And make sure to cast your vote on February 8,” he added.
