The Hellenic Development Bank-HDB and the Association of Insurance Companies of Greece (EAEE) are joining forces with the aim of developing synergies within the framework of joint actions to strengthen insurance penetration in Greek society.

In particular, as mentioned in the relevant announcement, HDB and EAEE signed a memorandum of cooperation with the object of investigating collusions between the two organizations:

• in the context of supporting entrepreneurship and individuals and expanding the beneficiaries of insurance products, as well as
• in matters of financial and insurance tools aimed at businesses and individuals, with a particular emphasis on addressing the effects of climate change.

Also, the exchange of knowledge and the examination of further synergies between the actions organized by HDB and the corresponding actions of EAEE are foreseen.

The signing of the memorandum was carried out by the Managing Director of HDB, Mrs. Athina Hatzipetrou, and Mr. Alexandros Sarrigeorgiou and Panagiotis Dimitriou, President and Secretary General of EAEE respectively.

The President of EAEE, Mr. Alexandros Sarrigeorgiou, underlined:

"EAEE today launched its collaboration with the Hellenic Development Bank, acquiring a partner that aims to encourage growth. We look forward to a close and effective cooperation that will help to reduce the large protection gap that exists in Greece through joint initiatives that will facilitate and encourage more citizens and businesses to be insured."

The CEO of HDB, Ms. Athina Hadjipetrou said:

"As a Development Bank, we shape and provide tools with the aim of strengthening and shaping a modern business climate based on market needs. I am certain that this partnership will significantly help in the further penetration of insurance consciousness in companies and will be a springboard for the creation of corresponding new programs".
