Pakistan to summons US ambassador over Biden remarks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said that the Foreign Ministry will summon US Ambassador Donald Blome for an official demarche on US President Joe Biden’s remarks on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.

Durinh a news conference, Zardari while responsnding to a question, said he spoke with PM Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Ministry will summon US ambassador.

On Friday, at a Democratic congressional campaign committee reception, Biden said  Pakistan may be “one of the most dangerous nations in the world” as the country has “nuclear weapons without any cohesion”.

Bilawal said that Pakistan’s nuclear assets “meet each and every international standard in accordance with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) as far as security and safety is concerned”.

"I have surprised by the Biden remarks," he added.

The Indian nuclear assets are the most unsafe and they should talk about that, he added.
