ISLAMABAD: Former Federal Minister and a senior senator of the opposition party PTI  Azam Swati on Saturday burst into tears before the media and revealed that his over 70-year-old wife received “immoral videos” featuring him and her from an unknown number.

Swati with teary eyes told reporters that he couldn't share more details as his daughters and sisters across the country are watching his presser.

He added that his wife called him from Islamabad crying and shouting last night and told him that she received a video from an unknown number.

"My daughter came from the US after my recent arrest, I ask her to go and check with her mother what happened, On her insistence, my wife revealed that someone had sent her a video of him from an unknown number."

"I again asked her that your mother knew me very well that I slept at 9 am and woke up for Tahajud prayer and never did anything wrong in my life but my daughter told me Dady it's about you and my mother," Swati told and bursting into tears before the media people.

“I asked her how is it possible,” the senator said, bursting into tears. He added that his daughter also told him that the video was from when Swati and his wife had visited Quetta.

Swati, who was arrested  on Oct. 13 in a case registered against him over a controversial tweet against the Pakistan Army Chief and is now on bail, has claimed that has been subjected to custodial torture.

Swati's press conference spread anger across the country and people strongly condemned the act with a 75-year-old senator and his over 70 years old wife releasing their personal videos.

He accused the elements within the country’s powerful establishment for the act as he has already accused some intelligence officers of torturing and naked him during custody last month.

Swati also approached the Supreme Court of Pakistan and requested the top court to take action against of his “custodial torture”.

"I want to apologise on behalf of Pakistan to Mrs Swati, a very private, non public, tahajut guzaar lady for the pain, anguish and sense of humiliation she is having to suffer," former Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted after Swati presser.

"Pakistan was created on Islamic moral values of human dignity, honour of the family & inviolability of chadar & chardawari. What has happened to Azam Swati at the hands of the State has been a blatant violation of all these values - from being stripped naked to custodial torture."

"& now this video where privacy of his wife has been violated. It is both shocking, despicable & utterly condemnable. No human being should have to suffer this. I call on the CJP to take suo moto notice of this," Khan added.

PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar while sharing Swati video clip and wrote "This clip of Azam Swati Sahib is a slap on the face of the Senate Chairman and all parliaments. I never thought that our intelligence people would be so disrespectful and would scatter our religious and social ethics in this way. No one's self-respect is safe. May God curse these people."

"Beyond reprehensible! If this is true, the intel agencies involved and their top management must be held to task and punished. Government should constitute an inquiry commission with equal parliamentarians from the treasury & opposition. This is a menace to them all," said a prominent Lawyer Salhuddinh Ahmed.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan also condemned the act and demanded the Chairman Senate to immediately form a parliamentary committee to investigate this case.

"This is the worst character assassination, terror tactics to suppress political opponents, before this act what happened with Azam Swati, he made allegations, the behavior of the person/institution is unforgivable, the investigation should be done, and those responsible should be brought to justice. I am saddened to see the press conference. I stand with Senator #AzamSwati, the Supreme Court should take notice," he wrote on Twitter.

Former Finance Minister and key member of the ruling party Miftaf Ismail sharing a tweet of Imran Khan and said "I have never felt the urge to retweet Imran Khan but here I have to agree with him. The video of Begum Azam Swati is clearly beyond the pale. I feel ashamed that an honorable woman can be so humiliated in my country. This madness must stop."

Meanwhile Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also ordered the interior ministry to investigate the matter and report him.

"I have ordered the interior ministry to investigate Azam Swati matter," he told reporters in Lahore
