Ukraine president slams NATO, says people will die due to alliance weakness, disunity

KYIV, Ukraine (TSAT) - Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday slammed NATO for what he called the alliance's weak response to the Russia-Ukraine war and said NATO will be responsible for the killings of his people.

In a video statement, released on his social media platform, Zelenskky, seems disappointed the western countries who earlier pushed him to take a stand against Russia and they would be behind him.

"All the people who will die starting from this day will also die because of you [NATO]. Because of your [NATO] weakness, because of your disunity," said the Ukraine President.

He was looking angry in the video and said the NATO and other western countries' weakness had given a green light to Russia to continue its bombing on his country.

His statement came after, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, on Friday said that NATO will not send its troops to Ukraine, nor the alliance introduces a "no-fly zone" as it would be direct war with Russia.

He added such actions would cause more civilian casualties.

On Saturday, the US Secretary of States Antony Blinken meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba at the Poland-Ukraine border and discussed the ongoing situation in his country.

"It was inspiring to meet today with my friend @DmytroKuleba at the Ukrainian-Polish border. The leadership and courage that he and @ZelenskyyUa have demonstrated are remarkable, and the United States and the world will continue to stand with them and the people of Ukraine," Blinken tweeted after the meeting.

"The  @UN_HRC took extraordinary action to create a Commission of Inquiry to investigate Russia’s brutal, unjustified war on Ukraine. It is clear Putin stands alone and that countries from every geographic region are #UnitedWithUkraine."

However, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister expressed disappointment over the western countries' response and said they expected full support from them.

"Met with my U.S. counterpart and friend  @SecBlinken at the Ukrainian-Polish border. We held talks on further deliveries of necessary weapons for Ukraine, ways to ensure the efficiency of sanctions, and increase pressure. [President] Putin must stop his meaningless and barbaric war on Ukraine," Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
