Ukraine rejects Russia conditions for ceasefire, negotiations, calls it against international laws

KYIV, Ukraine (TSAT) - The Ukrain politicians on Saturday has rejected Russian conditions to handover its arms and Donbas or Donbass region to Moscow if they want to stop the attacks.

 

Halyna Yanchenko, a youngest parliament member of the Ukraine told Al Jazeera that how Kyiv could trust Moscow as they broke down its earlier agreement of 1990s when Kyiv handover nuclear assets to Russia and they along with the US and western countries promised for the security of Ukraine.

 

"This was the security promise which we are watching today," she questioned. 

 

“Now Russia want to hand over our territories and arms to them, which is unacceptable,” she told the Doha based broadcaster. 

 

Moscow want to demilitarize Ukraine and such move or conditions are against the all international laws and norms, she added. 

 

The Donbas or Donbass is a historical, cultural, and economic region in south-eastern Ukraine and some parts of the region already under the Russia-backed separatist since 2014.

 

On Monday, Russian President announced to recognized the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic as independent states.

 

His move Brough huge criticism from around the world and many countries called it action against the sovereignty of Ukraine and violation of international laws. 

 

Later on Thursday, Putin ordered his forces to launch operation against Ukraine. 

 

During last three days, the Russian forces captured several areas of Ukraine and also targeted the military and civilian settlement in different areas.

 

The Russian attacks displaced thousand people and most of them fled toward the European countries borders. 

 

On Friday, President Putin said that Moscow is ready to send its delegation for negotiation with Ukraine, however so far the both side didn’t agreed to where the officials of two side should meet and talks.

 

Putin statement came after the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked Russia to move to the table and resolve the issue through dialogue. 

 

On Saturday, the Ukraine President again criticized the US and NATO countries for their slow response and said they didn’t fulfill their commitment. 

 

As the US President Joe Biden and NATO already announced that they would financially help the Ukraine but have no plan to send their troops in Kyiv  to fight against Russia.
