Moscow says no meeting between Putin-Zelenskyy before agreement text ready

MOSCOW (TSAT) - Russia's top official said that meeting between President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky is not possible before both sides agreed on an agreement text, local media said on Sunday.

Head of Russian peace talks delegation Vladimir Medinsky said that before any meeting the agreement between two sides must be finalized and agreed, TASS news agency reported.

"I’m absolutely not ready to comment on that. I can only say that before we even mention a meeting of the leaders, delegations of negotiators must prepare and agree on the text of a treaty. After that, the text of the treaty should be initialed by foreign ministers, and approved by governments. After that, a possibility of a summit can be discussed," the agency quoted Medinsky as saying.

His statement came after Ukrainian presidential office adviser Mikhail Podolyak said that the meeting between the two presidents is expected in the next couple of weeks.
