UK opens applications for fully funded scholarships and fellowships for Pakistani leaders

ISLAMABAD – The United Kingdom has opened applications for three flagship programmes designed to help emerging Pakistani leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs access world-class education and develop international networks.

The programmes include Chevening Scholarships, the Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Fellowship, and the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship.

Chevening Scholarships offer fully funded one-year master's degrees at UK universities for individuals who demonstrate leadership potential. The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly living allowance, return flights, visa costs, and arrival allowance.

The Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Fellowship supports mid-career academics and professionals to undertake independent research at Oxford for five months. Citizens of Pakistan and 25 other countries are eligible.

Commonwealth Startup Fellowships support high-potential entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses and learn from UK experts.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott CMG OBE, said: "Pakistan has no shortage of talent, and these programmes help outstanding Pakistanis develop the skills, networks and ideas needed to lead institutions, grow businesses and tackle some of the world's biggest challenges".

Applicants must submit original work and are strictly prohibited from using AI-generated answers. Those found to have used AI risk disqualification.

All programmes include flights, course fees, visas and stipends to cover living costs.

More than 2,000 Chevening alumni in Pakistan work across public service, business, academia, media and civil society. Globally, Chevening alumni include more than 20 current or former heads of state or government.
