Pakistan, Saudi Arabia reaffirm strategic economic partnership in high-level Islamabad talks

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic and strategic cooperation following a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan in Islamabad on Friday.

 

The Saudi minister, on a one-day official visit, called on the prime minister at the Prime Minister House, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in trade, investment, and economic development. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.

 

Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his respects to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom’s Crown Prince, and recalled his recent cordial telephone conversation with the latter.

 

He expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s longstanding financial and economic support, noting that it has played a crucial role in maintaining Pakistan’s economic stability during challenging periods.

 

Reaffirming the enduring nature of bilateral ties, Sharif emphasized that Pakistan has consistently stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Saudi Arabia, describing the relationship as a deep-rooted and evolving partnership strengthened under the Crown Prince’s leadership.

 

The prime minister also highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation across key sectors, particularly in investment and economic collaboration.

 

Minister Al-Jadaan, in turn, reiterated Saudi Arabia’s resolve to further strengthen its fraternal relations with Pakistan, aligning with the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to enhance long-term bilateral cooperation.

 

The meeting reflects continued momentum in Pakistan-Saudi relations, as both countries seek to advance mutually beneficial economic partnerships amid shifting regional dynamics.
