Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir Visits NCTC Pabbi, Observes Pak-China Joint Exercise Warrior-VIII

ISLAMABAD - General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), on Friday paid a visit to the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi , where he observed and engaged with participants of the Pak-China Joint Exercise Warrior-VIII.

This exercise brings together troops from the Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China in a collaborative effort to enhance counter-terrorism capabilities, said ISPR in a statement.

During his visit, the COAS was briefed on the scope and execution of the exercise. He also took the opportunity to personally interact with the participating troops, commending their professionalism, dedication, and high morale.

He expressed his appreciation for the collaborative spirit and the commitment displayed by both Pakistani and Chinese forces during the joint drill.

The Warrior-VIII exercise, which began on November 19, 2024, is a three-week-long training event focusing on counter-terrorism operations.

This marks the eighth installment in the series of bilateral exercises conducted annually between Pakistan and China. The drills aim to bolster the interoperability and tactical proficiency of the two armies in handling complex counter-terrorism scenarios.

Earlier, upon his arrival at NCTC Pabbi, General Munir was received by the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps, who accompanied him during the visit.

The Warrior-VIII exercise underscores the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and reflects their shared commitment to regional peace and security. This collaboration serves as a testament to the growing defense ties between the two nations, fostering mutual learning and operational excellence
